Gabi on the verge of moving to Qatar

According to Sport.es, Atletico Madrid legend Gabi will be leaving the club in the next few weeks in favour of a move to Qatar where he will play for Al Sadd – the same club that signed Barcelona legend Xavi. The 34-year-old came up through the youth system with Atletico before moving to Zaragoza in 2007, and after four years there, he made his triumphant return to the club that helped put him on the map.

Now, however, Gabi will be following the money all the way to Qatar with a reported fee of €19 million being discussed for the midfielder. Gabi reportedly went back and forth regarding whether or not he should take the deal or play out the rest of his career with Atletico, but after a lot of thinking, he decided to make the leap.

The aforementioned Xavi has been with Al Sadd since 2015, making well over 60 appearances for the club in that time.
