Bundesliga giants Schalke are considering a summer bid for Parma centre-back Gabriel Paletta, according to Sky Sport Italia.
The Miners are on the lookout for defensive reinforcements and they believe the Italy international would be a very good addition to the squad.
Schalke could, however, face a stiff competition for the player’s signature as other European giants have also taken notice.
Gabriel Paletta has developed into one of league’s top central defenders and he was even handed his Italy debut in March this year.
The 28-year-old is widely tipped to make Cesare Prandelli’s World Cup squad, while a big club move could be on the cards as well.
The Argentine-born footballer has spent last four years at Ennio Tardini, making a total of 113 Serie A appearances.
Parma face Cagliari away hoping to revive their Europa League ambitions, with I Ducali priced at 13/10 to claim maximum points at Stadio Sant’Elia.
