GAIS impress while Solna beat Halmstad

GAIS Göteborg began their Swedish season with an impressive 1-5 victory at Örgryte IS in a local derby. AIK Solna beat Halmstads BK 1-0.

GAIS needed only six minutes for Par Ericsson to score the side’s first goal of the season, but Alvaro Santos equalised for Örgryte in minute 17.

But three goals in four minutes just before the half hour, scored by Tommy Lycen, Mattias Lindström and Wanderson, left the home side gasping for air. Lindström added another in the second half for a 1-5 final result.

The only goal at the match between Solna and Halmstad was scored by 22-year-old midfielder Gabriel Özkan in the 54th minute.
