Benfica star Nicolas Gaitan is nearing the summer exit from Estadio da Luz, according to the player’s representative.
Even before the start of the summer transfer window, the Argentine was seen as one of the players most likely to leave the club, but there has been nothing concrete yet.
The midfielder’s agent Jose Irribaren, nevertheless, confessed to Record that his client could be leaving the Eagles later this summer.
He has also revealed there are no official offers for Gaitan yet, but there is still plenty of time for the interested clubs to act.
The 25-year-old was heavily linked with Manchester United in the past, but it appears the club’s interest has cooled off after Sir Alex Ferguson stepped down from the post.
Gaitan has done well to improve his status at the club after he was mostly restricted to substitute appearances in the opening exchanges, and he has played a key role in the second part of the season.
