Turkish giants Galatasaray have revealed that star striker Burak Yilmaz can leave the club if the right offer comes along.
The highly rated forward was linked with Lazio and Atletico Madrid during the summer transfer window, but it is believed Chelsea are also casting admiring glances his way.
Galatasaray chairman Unal Aysal has admitted he wouldn’t mind allowing Yilmaz to join Chelsea in the near future.
“If he wants to go and Chelsea are interested, then why not. I am always in favour of Turkish players going to the top clubs in Europe,” Aysal said speaking at the Leaders in Football Conference at the Stamford Bridge.
“There was a request from Lazio at the end of the summer but the deal was not done because the conditions were not met,” Aysal added.
With Fernando Torres, Demba Ba and Samuel Eto’o all struggling for form at the moment, Jose Mourinho is likely to sign another high-profile striker in January, and he might even consider adding Burak Yilmaz to his ranks.
Chelsea were seen as one of the favourites for the English Premier League title before the season started, but the odds have drifted to 13/5 following the disappointing start to the league campaign.
