Galatasaray close in on Chedjou

Turkish giants Galatasaray are on the verge of signing Lille defender Aurelien Chedjou, according to L’Equipe.

The Super Lig outfit hope to further reinforce the squad in the summer and after former Toulouse defender Dany Nounkeu impressed at Turk Telekom Arena, they are preparing a bid for another Ligue 1 star.

L’Equipe has suggested that Galatasaray are hoping to sign Lille centre-back Aurelien Chedjou in the summer transfer window.

The Cameroon international has a contract until June 2016 at Grand Stade Lille Metropole, but he has received assurances from club chiefs that he will be sold at the end of the current campaign.

AC Milan, Fulham and Reading have expressed interest in his services in the past, but the 27-year-old is believed to prefer a move to Turkey.

Aurelien Chedjou has spent last six years at Lille, making 153 Ligue 1 appearances for the club and scoring 11 goals.
