Galatasaray came back from behind to beat Diyarbakirspor 1-2 and defend their second place in the Turkish Super Lig.

Andres Mendoza surprisingly put home team Diyarbakirspor in the lead after 11 minutes, but Sabri Sarioglu levelled the score shortly before the break.

A goal from Arda Turan in the seventh minute after the interval, was enough for Galatasaray to secure the victory.

The guests did play the last half hour without Baris Ozbek as result of a second yellow card, but his absence would not affect the scoreline.

Fenerbahce were handed an automatic 3-0 win over Ankaraspor, who were relegated by the Turkish FA as result of a conflict of interest involving Ankaragucu. All of Ankaraspor’s remaining games this season were turned into 3-0 defeats.

Fenerbahce remain in first place, three points ahead of Galatasaray.
