(GSM) – Turkish league leaders Galatasaray stumbled on Monday, losing 2-1 at Eskisehirspor to leave their lead in the league at just two points.
The home side held Galatasaray at bay for much of the first half, and they were rewarded with the opening goal in the 43rd minute as Koray Arslan put Eskisehirspor in front.
The league leaders were then stunned two minutes on the other side of the restart when Arslan struck a second goal to give Eskisehirspor a 2-0 lead.
Elano’s penalty on 72 minutes reduced the arrears for Galatasaray, but they got no closer and suffered their first league loss in 10 matches.
Their lead now sits at two points after Fenerbahçe’s Saturday win over Antalyaspor. A bigger challenge could come from Bursaspor, who are four points back but with two games in hand.
