Galatasaray want Depay

According to a recent report from AS, Galatasaray have entered the race to try and sign Barcelona star Memphis Depay.

While he may have been one of the most exciting players in Europe once upon a time, Memphis Depay has struggled to find consistency since arriving at the Nou Camp. The Spanish giants have had some big comings and goings for a while now and the hope was that Depay would slot right into their setup.

Alas, that hasn’t turned out to be the case.

The 28-year-old, who turns 29 in February, seems to be in need of a fresh start – with Galatasaray offering him a route forward in that department.

However, many have previously seen a move to Turkey as one of two things. It’s either a great rehab spot for a player to get back on his feet or, alternatively, it’s a place where players go as they slowly exit their prime.
