Galatasaray are working on signing Nicolo Zaniolo from AS Roma with the attacking midfielder open to joining the Turkish club, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Zaniolo was the subject of a proper transfer saga last month, openly keen to leave Roma as head coach Jose Mourinho confirmed, and the likes of Bournemouth and AC Milan reportedly interested. It was also reported that the 23-year-old preferred the Rossoneri to the Cherries as his destination – quite understandably – but in the end, nothing happened and he remains in the Italian capital. He recently expressed the hope of being welcomed back at the club and ready to contribute at Roma as much as he can while still there.
The talks between Galatasaray and Roma are ongoing, with the new round scheduled to take place at the start of next week.
