Los Angeles Galaxy and United States forward Landon Donovan will train with Bayern Munich of the German Bundesliga for the next 10 days, the team said Tuesday.
Donovan, is a finalist for Major League Soccer's Most Valuable Player award, led the league in scoring with a career-high 20 goals in 25 games, although the Galaxy failed to make the playoffs.
He is expected to return to Los Angeles later this month.
The defending Bundesliga champions, Bayern Munich are coached by former Galaxy technical adviser Jurgen Klinsmann.
They currently sit in third place, one point behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen and TSG Hoffenheim.
Donovan's Galaxy teammate David Beckham is planning an even longer spell in Europe now that his MLS season is over.
The former England captain is due to join AC Milan on loan from January 7 when the Serie A season restarts following its winter break.
