Conor Gallagher has been of vital importance to Crystal Palace since he came in on loan from Chelsea at the start of the season. Interestingly enough, he has eight Premier League goals so far, more than any Chelsea player has managed under Thomas Tuchel this term. Those eight goals came in 22 matches, or to be more precise, 22 starts.
Speaking to the press ahead of his team’s clash with Burnley on Saturday, Palace boss Patrick Vieira said the 22-year-old midfielder was happy at Selhurst Park, but he hadn’t yet looked beyond the end of the season regarding the player’s future.
Gallagher is, of course, due back at Stamford Bridge at the end of the season and Palace have no option in the initial loan agreement to make his move there permanent. However, that doesn’t mean they cannot try and negotiate another deal with Chelsea.
A product of Chelsea’s academy, Gallagher had loan spells with Charlton Athletic, Swansea City and West Bromwich Albion before joining Palace.
