While many of England’s big-name stars might still be dusting themselves down following their EURO 24 final defeat against Spain on July 14th, they could be set for a hectic end to the summer transfer window.
Although it might appear almost certain that Everton ace Jarrad Branthwaite will be staying put at Goodison Park this summer, there is plenty of speculation around many England internationals.
While many of England’s might still be working within some incredibly tight financial restrictions, the likes of Manchester United have already broken the bank.
With just over a month left until the summer transfer window slams shut, we have taken at some of the English poster boys that could be set for a late switch.
Conor Gallagher – Chelsea
While Conor Gallagher might have been frequently in possession of Chelsea’s captains armband last season, there has been plenty of speculation over the past six months that the 24-year-old could be set for a summer move away from Stamford Bridge.
Now officially entering the final 12 months of his current deal with the former Premier League champions, both parties remain at loggerheads and no sign of an extension appears to be on the horizon.
With some suggestions over the past few weeks that Chelsea’s academy graduate is keen on taking up a new adventure away from west London, the 18-cap international is attracting plenty of heavyweight interest from across the continent.
While it might have appeared for large spells over recent months that historic rivals Tottenham are sat in the driving seat, a potential summer switch to the Spanish capital could be on the cards for Gallagher.
With the Chelsea hierarchy reportedly keen on cashing in on their midfield star ahead of the 2024/25 campaign, there has been plenty of speculation that Atletico Madrid are a keen admirer and have already reached out to discuss terms.

Marc Guehi – Crystal Palace
While the likes of Harry Kane might have come under plenty of scrutiny over in Germany this summer, Marc Guehi received a string of plaudits and was arguably England’s standout performer at EURO 24.
Doing a stellar job of filling Harry Maguire’s void at the heart of the Three Lions’ defence, the Crystal Palace ace finds his stock at a red-hot high and has quickly blossomed into one of the Premier League’s hottest defensive prospects.
Despite missing large spells of last season due to a long-term knee injury, the one-time Chelsea starlet has a host of heavyweight admirers and has reportedly informed the hierarchy at Selhurst Park that he wants to secure a move away from south London.
Despite being under contract with the Eagles until the summer of 2026, it has been suggested that Palace would be willing to cash in on their skipper should an acceptable offer come their way.
Reportedly valuing the 24-year-old in the region of £70million, there has been plenty of speculation that both Liverpool and Arsenal are battling it out in the race to snap up Guehi over the coming weeks.

Ivan Toney – Brentford
Although Brentford might have made it abundantly clear that they want to keep hold of their attacking talisman this summer, it appears almost certain that Ivan Toney will finally get his move away from west London.
With the one-time Newcastle youngster stating that he has no intention of putting pen to paper on a new deal with the Bees, Toney has officially entered the final 12 months of his current contract and is eager to secure a blockbuster move this summer.
Impressing off the bench when handed a chance by Gareth Southgate during this summer’s European Championships, Toney has made it no secret that he wants to move away from the Gtech Community Stadium.
Notching four Premier League goals after returning from an eight-month ban due to significant breaches of betting rules back in January, the 28-year-old is desperate to play European football this season.
While it might have been reported last week that Toney is dreaming of the chance to secure a move to Manchester United this summer, Tottenham have also been heavily linked with a potential £50million swoop.
