Galliani discusses future of Ibrahimovic, Silva

Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has voiced his opinion on the future of star players Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva.

The Rossoneri are facing a real fight to keep hold of their key footballers, but Galliani maintains that both players are tied to long-term deals.

The Milan chief first moved to refute reports that the club had opened talks with Zlatan Ibrahimovic over a new contract.

“There will be no renewal for Ibrahimovic, absolutely not,” Galliani told Sky Sport Italia.

“We are only at the start of 2012 and he still has two years to run on his present deal. It’s a long deal and agent Mino Raiola was here yesterday to talk about some youngsters.”

The Swedish striker, who has 15 goals in 19 Serie A games this season, is set to return to the side after serving a three-match ban.

Meanwhile, Galliani also denied speculations linking defender Thiago Silva with a summer move to Camp Nou.

“Thiago Silva has a long contract with us until 2016, so I don’t think he can be abducted by Barcelona.”

The Brazilian has been a real rock in the heart of Milan defence this season, and he even managed to score one goal in 23 Serie A games.

The Rossoneri travel to Renzo Barbera on Saturday, hoping to keep their one-point advantage over Juventus at the top of the league standings.
