Santos midfielder Paulo Henrique Ganso has added fuel to speculations linking him with a summer move to Europe by rejecting a new contract offer from the Brazilian club.
The 22-year-old is currently one of the most sought-after players in world football, but his club have so far resisted temptation to cash in on their prized asset.
Nevertheless, Santos may be forced to consider selling the talented midfielder after he rejected the latest contract offer.
Ganso was reportedly offered around €1.5 million per campaign, but he reveals the proposal was well below his expectations.
“I didn’t like the offer, I thought they would offer something better,” Ganso told reporters.
“I don’t know what can happen, only God knows it. I hope I can remain calm to keep playing football.”
Paulo Henrique Ganso has spent his entire playing career a Santos, where he has scored 28 goals in 114 league appearances.
The attacking midfielder already has 8 Brazil caps to his name and he is expected to make Seleccao’s squad for the 2012 London Olympics.
