hot-transfer-newsGaray nears Old Trafford switch

Benfica stopper Ezequiel Garay is set to join Manchester United, Portuguese daily Record has revealed.

The Red Devils have been watching the Argentine throughout the season and they are ready to step up their interest in the highly rated defender.

Manchester United officials have reached an agreement in principle with their Benfica counterparts, and they are expected to wrap up the deal in the coming weeks.

The transfer will be worth around €20 million, with Garay arriving at Old Trafford as a long-term replacement for Rio Ferdinand.

The Argentina international has largely impressed since joining Benfica from Real Madrid two years back making a total of 51 league appearances for the Eagles.

Garay, 26, has also nailed down a regular starting berth in Argentina national team, starting 6 games in the 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign.

Fellaini on Napoli radar

Napoli are considering a summer move for Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.

Following the arrival of Rafael Benitez, the Azzurri have started working on summer reinforcements, with the Belgian one of the first names on their hit-list.

With Gokhan Inler and Valon Behrami both tipped to leave in the summer, Napoli officials are determined to reinforce the midfield area.

They are now pondering a move for Everton star Marouane Fellaini, but the player’s £24 million release clause could prove to be a problem.

The Toffees are not prepared to accept anything less for their star player, although Napoli could raise the cash by selling Edinson Cavani.

Marouane Fellaini, who has also been linked with Manchester United, has enjoyed another successful season in English Premier League, scoring 11 goals and producing 6 assists in 31 league matches.

Juventus eyeing Juan Cuadrado

Italian newspaper Tuttosport is reporting that Juventus are stepping up their efforts to sign Udinese full-back Juan Cuadrado.

The Bianconeri are searching for a new right-sided wingback and they seem to have made the Colombian their number one target.

Juventus officials have been disappointed with Mauricio Isla’s performances this season and they aim to offload the Chilean and sign Juan Cuadrado instead.

The Colombian has largely impressed during a loan spell with Fiorentina, so it is quite surprising that Viola haven’t exercised the option to make his deal permanent.

Juventus are hoping to hijack their bid for Cuadrado and plan to open talks with Udinese over the 25-year-old midfielder.

Juan Cuadrado has been in scintillating form this season, scoring 5 goals and producing 7 assists in 36 Serie A matches for Viola.
