Garde eyeing Remy loan deal

Aston Villa manager Remi Garde is keen on signing Chelsea’s Loic Remy on loan for the remainder of the season, according to the Mirror.

The Midlands club lost to Norwich City on Monday afternoon – a result which has left them rooted to the bottom of the Premier League and has them eleven points from safety with half the season played.

Garde has identified Remy as an ideal addition as he looks to add more goals to his side, after they have hit just fifteen so far with Jordan Ayew their top scorer with five.

Remy has, despite his sides woes, started just one Premier League game this season with his only goal coming in the 2-1 defeat to Leicester City a fortnight ago.

The France international, like Garde, began his career in Ligue 1 with Lyon and the Villa boss is hoping to use his contacts to help get a deal over the line.
