Lyon head coach Remi Garde believes his team deserved more than a 1-1 draw at home to Bordeaux on Sunday.
Jimmy Briand cancelled out Ludovic Obraniak’s 62nd-minute opener to see Lyon earn a point despite finishing the encounter with 10 men.
Alexandre Lacazette was sent off on 67 minutes for Lyon, who saw their winless league run extended to four matches.
Garde was upset Lyon, who are 12th in Ligue 1, only managed to collect a point at the Stade de Gerland.
“I have to admit I am a little disappointed with the result today because we wanted to win the game,” he said.
“We prepared for this game well and I felt we were going to get the three points tonight and were deserving of them.
“Even at the half-time when the score was 0-0 I felt we would win and the team were battling well.
“I was satisfied with the performance of the team I chose for tonight’s game. At the end we are disappointed to have only picked up a draw.”
While disappointed with the result, Garde was happy with the performance but feels his side have been unlucky this season.
“It was a pleasing performance from the team because we played 20 minutes with just 10 men,” Garde said.
“I think that with 11 against 11 we could have made the difference and found the win. We were in good shape and physically we ended the game in much better condition than them which was pleasing.
“The only thing we have been missing this season is a bit of luck. In all our last games these last weeks we have been unlucky.
“I believe it will have to end at some point soon and that my players get the reward they deserve for all their effort and good performances.”
