Ligue 1 giants Lyon are set to unveil academy director Remi Garde as their new coach on Wednesday.
The former Arsenal defensive midfielder and six-time France international will take the reins after the club sacked Claude Puel on Monday.
The seven-time French champions finished third last season and were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League by Real Madrid in the round of 16.
Garde, who has no previous experience as a head coach, will join club president Jean-Michel Aulas and Sporting Director Bernard Lacombe at a press conference to announce his appointment ‘as first team coach’, the club’s website says.
The 45-year-old came through the club’s youth system before spending six years at the Stade de Gerland, moving to Strasbourg and English Premier League outfit Arsenal before retiring in 1999.
