Competition: Championship
Market: Gary Mcallister to be the next Leeds manager
Odds: 5/2 @ Coral
Former Leeds manager Gary Mcallister is one of their final three candidates to be named as the Leeds head coach this summer.
The 49-year-old will meet up with Leeds owner Massimo Cellino today about taking up the role, where an official decision will likely be made next week.
The other names having been linked with the role recently are Gianluca Fest, Gianfranco Zola, Paolo Di Canio, and Dave Hockaday, but Eamonn Dolan is another name in the mix too.
Mcallister was in charge of the club for 11 months in 2008, leading the Lilywhites to the League One playoff final, but was eventually sacked after a poor start in the following campaign.
But as he’s one of three men left who could get the job, Coral are giving odds of 5/2 for him to get the position again.
Leeds are in turmoil. They’ve continually failed in their bid to finish in a playoff place in the Championship, and have financial issues that need to be addressed, with players not being paid in the last month.
