Chile international Gary Medel is on the verge of leaving the Serie A giants Inter Milan after being told he doesn’t fit into Luciano Spalletti’s plans.
Medel was keen to join Boca Juniors but the Argentina giants could not afford Inter Milan’s asking price for the Chilean. On the contrast, Trabzonspor have decided to meet the Nerazzurri’s €5 million valuation of their player and could be set for a move to Turkey.
Trabzonspor president Muharrem Usta has confirmed Turkish outfit have reached an agreement with Inter Milan and that negotiations with the player himself have been opened.
“Today we started negotiations with player’s entourage.”, Usta said.
Medel was believed to be not particularly keen for a move to Turkey but Trabzonspor are hopeful they would be able to convince the experienced 29-year-old defender by offering him a lucrative deal.
Medel amassed 26 Serie A starts for Inter Milan last season.
