Gaston Ramirez joins Sampdoria

Sampdoria have moved to announce the capture of Uruguayan midfielder Gaston Ramirez from Middlesbrough.

According to reports, the transfer is worth €11 million, but no official figures have been released as of yet.

The deal was announced on club’s official website and it will definitely serve as a boost for the club who have mostly been selling important players this summer.

Luis Muriel, Milan Skrniar and Bruno Fernandes all left, while failed medical prevented Patrik Schick from joining Juventus.

Meanwhile, Gaston Ramirez returns to Italy some five years after leaving Bologna from Southampton.

The Uruguayan has since represented Hull City and Middlesbrough as well, bagging a total of 16 goals in 112 league appearances.
