Turkish giants Galatasaray are readying summer bid for Schalke winger Jefferson Farfan, Peruvian newspaper Libero understands.
The 30-year-old footballer missed a large chunk of the previous season through injury, but he, nonetheless, made Peru’s final squad for the 2015 Copa America.
That proved to be a very good decision by coach Ricardo Gareca as Farfan went on to produce several excellent performances as La Blanquirroja narrowly missed out on a place in the final.
As a result, top European sides have rekindled their interest in the winger, with Galatasaray moving to the front of the queue.
The Turkish giants have contacted the player’s agent and they are expected to wrap up the deal in the coming days.
Farfan, who bagged 39 goals in 170 Bundesliga appearances for Schalke, should be available on a cut-price deal considering that his current contract at Veltins Arena is due to expire in June 2016.
