(GSM) – Genk successfully defended their lead in the Belgian Pro League, with a 3-1 win over Lokeren on Saturday.
The match at Cristian Arena had been under way for 38 minutes when Marvin Ogunjimi put the home side in the lead. And within five minutes, Jelle Vossen added another two to hand his team a very comfortable advantage at the half time whistle.
Ivan Leko pulled one back for Lokeren on the hour mark but it wasn’t enough to truly threaten Genk’s lead.
With this result, Genk restore their three-point lead over Mechelen who beat Standard Liege 1-0 on Friday.
