(GSM) – Genk extended their lead in the Belgian Pro League with a 4-2 win over Standard Liege while Anderlecht crashed 1-0 at Cercle Brugge.

League leaders Genk delivered yet another impressive performance at their own Cristal Arena.

The hosts had built a 2-0 lead within 15 minutes with goals from Marvin Ogunjimi and Joao Carlos. Mehdi Carcela got one back in the 29th but Jelle Vossen restored the two-goal gap just before the break.

Mohamed Tchite then made it 3-2 in the 56th minute but Hungarian Daniel Tozser removed all doubt late on, 4-2.

Anderlecht dropped from third to second place following a 1-0 defeat at Cercle. The only goal was scored by Oleg Iachtchouk in the 62nd minute.

Genk are now eight points ahead of Anderlecht and seven points ahead of Gent, who are now in second place.
