Genk midfielder Daniel Tozser has revealed that he has already agreed to join Genoa when his contract expires at the end of the season.
The 26-year-old midfielder has been attracting a lot of attention with his performances this season, with several English Premier League clubs expressing interest in his services.
The player’s contract with the Belgian giants is set to expire at the end of the season, and he is now free to speak to interested clubs.
However, despite the heavy interest from England, the player reveals that he is set to sign for Serie A side Genoa.
“It is a good sign that the club offered me a long contract,” Tozser told Hungarian newspaper Origo.
“It means that they have faith in me and appreciate what I have done in my career so far. I will do my best to repay that trust.”
Tozser says he is completely prepared for what awaits him in one of Europe’s strongest leagues.
“I’m aware that I am taking a step forward and I know there will be tough competition.
“There are footballers with great tactical knowledge in Serie A and the passing game is very important for midfielders, as they control the game. That is one of my strengths.”
The Hungarian international joined Genk from AEK Athens in June 2008 for a reported fee of €1.5 million.
He has since developed into one of the best defensive midfielders in Belgian Jupiler League and has now been given an opportunity to impress at the biggest stage.
