Genoa have moved to confirm that star striker Ciro Immobile could join Napoli at the end of the current campaign.
The Azzurri plan to add another quality striker to the side even if Edinson Cavani remains at Stadio San Paolo and they have been linked with a move for the Italy Under-21 international.
Ciro Immobile, 23, has been showing a lot of potential at Genoa and there is every chance Napoli will soon make an official bid for the player’s services.
Genoa sporting director Rino Foschi has added fuel to speculations by confessing that Immobile could join Napoli in the summer.
“Immobile at Napoli? I can not exclude it,” Foschi told Italian Radio Kiss Kiss.
“I would love it, I do not deny, (for him) to revive the partnership with (Lorenzo) Insigne.”
Ciro Immobile and Lorenzo Insigne formed an amazing attacking partnership at Pescara last season, while on loan from Juventus and Napoli respectively, scoring a total of 46 goals between them.
Immobile is now co-owned by Juventus and Genoa, but given the fierce competition for places in Turin, he is more likely to join another Serie A club than return to Juventus.
