(GSM) – Genoa coach Gian Piero Gasperini has dismissed claims they have made a bid for Portsmouth midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng. Earlier the Cittaceleste reported that a co-ownership deal could be struck between Lazio and Grifone to complete a deal to sign the Ghana international.
Boateng, 23, is expected to leave Fratton Park following Pompey’s relegation from the Premier League last season, and Lazio is a possible destination. But Gasperini has distanced himself from the talk.
“For me, Boateng is not at the top of the list,” Gasperini said.
“We’ll see about Veloso. There isn’t a hurry for the midfield.
“The important thing is that whoever arrives has the right requirements. I have seen a load of names doing the rounds, it’s a role that isn’t easy to identify in the market.
“Whether it takes a day or a month doesn’t matter. Remember the example of Thiago Motta who arrived as the market was closing.”
