Genoa have reached an agreement with Fiorentina for the transfer of keeper Sebastien Frey, the Grifoni have confirmed on their official website.
The French keeper was made available for sale by Fiorentina as they decided to stick to Artur Boruc and Norberto Neto.
Genoa managed to take advantage of the situation and have now confirmed that they are set to complete the signing of the 31-year-old.
“President Enrico Preziosi has reached an agreement with Fiorentina over the signing of the French goalkeeper,” a club note read.
“The transfer will be ratified next week after Frey has completed his medical.
“Frey, who seemed very motivated in his meeting with the Preziosi family, strongly wanted the Grifone by also accepting a pay cut.”
The French keeper spent last five years at Artemio Franchi, amassing 177 Serie A appearances for Viola in the process.
