Gent’s second place in the Belgian Pro League is at risk after a goalless draw with Kortrijk on Saturday.

Gent began the match with a one-point advantage over Club Brugge and knew that anything but a win could well cost them their chance of Champions League football.

And against fifth-placed Kortrijk, who themselves were still in a battle for fourth, neither side managed to get the goals they craved.

On Sunday, Brugge will now have the chance to reconquer the second place in a home match with Sint-Truiden. If the latter win however, they would go to third with Brugge dropping to fourth.
