RSC Anderlecht were held to a 1-1 draw by Gent on Sunday, while Club Brugge did well to earn a 1-4 victory at Westerlo.

Gent and Anderlecht shared the second position ahead of this game, a situation that didn’t change with the 1-1 result at Stade Constant Vanden Stock. Anderlecht took the lead through Ondrej Mazuch in the 32nd minute but Mbaye Leye leveled the score just two minutes later.

Westerlo experienced a good start against Club Brugge, opening the score through Aleksandr Yakovenko in the 4th minute.

Ivan Perisic equalized nine minutes later however and Joseph Akpala made it 1-2 in minute 27. Second half goals from Ronald Vargas and Dorge Kouemaha eventually earned the visitors a convincing 1-4 win.

Gent and Anderlecht now share their second place with Brugge. All are three points behind surprise leaders Sint-Truiden.
