(GSM) – Juventus legend Claudio Gentile would like to see his former club to sign Marco Motta.
“He is a boy who applies himself well,” said the former Under-21 boss who coached him at Azzurrini level.
“He’ll be very useful to Juventus and is perfect for Gigi Del Neri’s 4-4-2 brand of football.”
Juve are expected to land the right-back once they agree terms with Udinese.
And Gentile believes that the former Roma player can prove to be very useful in defence and attack.
“He started life as a wide midfielder who then exploded as a full-back,” added the 1982 World Cup winner.
“He pushes forward a lot, but he moves well defensively too. He’s strong physically, good in the air and is full of running.
“Del Neri will now how to do well by creating the space for him to run into so he can get to the line and cross the ball.”
Motta will replace Martin Caceres in the squad after Juventus didn’t take up their option to sign him outright after his loan from Barcelona last term.
