Former Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum wants to leave French giants Paris Saint-Germain for Italian club AS Roma in the summer transfer window, according to Fabrizio Romano. The well-known and well-respected journalist has reported on Twitter that Roma and PSG are in talks over the Netherlands international midfielder, who himself prefers a move to the Serie A club.

Wijnaldum has been on the books of PSG since the summer of 2021 when he joined on a free transfer after leaving Liverpool at the end of last season. The Dutchman struggled at the Ligue 1 club last season.
The 31-year-old made 18 starts and 13 substitute appearances in Ligue 1 for PSG past season, scoring one goal and providing three assists in the process. Wijnaldum made three starts and two substitute appearances in the UEFA Champions League last season, scoring two goals in the process.
