France Football understands that Bundesliga sides Borussia Dortmund and Borussia M’gladbach are leading the chase for Saint Etienne goalkeeper Stephane Ruffier.
The France international has been performing at a very high level for more than six years now, but he has so far resisted temptation to leave Ligue 1 for greener pastures.
But, despite recently signing a new deal at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard, the 28-year-old is being linked with a move away from the club.
According to France Football, both Borussia Dortmund and Borussia M’gladbach are keen on the highly rated shot-stopper and could make their interest concrete in the coming days.
And while the Millionaires see Ruffier as a great long-term replacement for Roman Weidenfeller, die Fohlen want the Frenchman to provide competition for summer recruit Yann Sommer.
Ruffier has been quite unfortunate to make it to the big stage at the same time as Hugo Lloris and Steve Mandanda, which is the main reason why he only has two France caps to his name.
