Competition: World Cup
Market: Germany win to nil
Odds: 11/8 @ Bet 365
The first match of Group F offers up one of World Cup’s glamour ties at Germany take on Mexico in Moscow.
For the defending World Champions, Die Nationalmannschaft boss Joachim Löw knows his side must make a statement after a tough build-up to this years finals. While they are coming off the back of a 2-1 win over Saudi Arabia, where they were far from their best, The Whites have now managed to win just one of their five warm-up outings. Although Germany are arguably going through their most difficult spell under Löw, The Whites will enter Sunday’s clash as an overwhelming favorite and their star-studded squad do have plenty of experience on the biggest stages. Backing the defending champions to bounce back and secure a win to nil at 11/8 seems like a solid bet.
As for Juan Carlos Osorio’s Mexico side, although The Greens will fancy their chances of causing an upset against FIFA’s #1 ranked side, they have shown some signs of their own struggles during their preparations. Coming off the back of a 2-0 loss to fellow finalists Denmark, although they did manage to come away with a 1-0 win over Scotland, Mexico have now failed to find the net against the likes of Wales and Croatia and they will struggle to make any kind of impact against a defence the strength of Germany’s.
