Germany are a big step closer to reaching the semi final stage at the UEFA Under-21 Championships, having beaten Finland 2-0.

Failing to score the goal they deserved against Spain, the Germans were more successful in their second group game. It did however, take until minute 59 for Benedikt Höweges to head home from a free kick.

Two minutes later, Ashkan Dejahah added a second for 2-0.

Finland had already lost their opening game to England and the Scandinavians seem to be out of contention in this group. Spain and England are set to face off in Thursday’s other Group B game.
