Germany finish first in WYC Group C

Germany won Group C of the 2009 Under-20 World Cup in Egypt thanks to a 3-0 victory over Cameroon in their final group match.

The Germans were never truly troubled by their opponents at Ismaïlia stadium. Richard Sukuta-Pasu put his team ahead in the 41st minute and Germany were further helped by a second yellow card to Cameroon’s Ekeng Ekeng shortly before half time.

Semih Aydilek added a second goal two minutes before the hour, and Lewis Holtby made it 3-0 on 70 minutes.

Aydilek received a second booking 18 minutes after his goal and won’t be available for Germany’s second round game.

The tournament is over for Cameroon, is the Africans finished in last place with three points.
