Germany put five past Scotland at Euro 2024 opener (Video)

Germany got off to a great start hosting Euro 2024, thrashing Scotland 5-1 in the opening game of the tournament in Munich.

Eeach goal for Die Mannschaft was scored by a different player, as Florian Wirtz, Jamal Musiala, Kai Havertz, Niclas Fullkrug and Emre Can all got on the scoresheet. Even the Scotland goal was the work of a German player – Antonio Rudiger, who put the ball in his own net three minutes from time.

Although it was already a rather one-sided match, Germany’s work was made easier in the 45th minute when Ryan Porteous got a fully deserved red card for a horror tackle on Ilkay Gundogan, enabling Havertz to score his goal from the spot.
