(GSM) – Germany go head-to-head with Spain in the semi-finals of the World Cup tonight and one would expect that’s the only thing on the mind of the players of both sides. However, Germany midfielder Mesut Ozil has still taken the time to blast England for their poor performance in South Africa.
“Beating England 4-1 has to be my highlight because it showed that, despite what people may say or write, Germany is still one of the best footballing nations in the world,” Ozil was quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.
“But if you find the greatest tournament on earth boring, like the English, then you probably shouldn’t be there.
“I admit that they deserved a goal, but if the ref doesn’t see it, he can’t give it. But clearly it was a goal.
“It was disappointing for England, but I don’t think it would have changed the outcome of the match. We were the better team.”
