Competition: World Cup
Market: Manuel Neuer to win the World Cup Golden Glove
Odds: 4/6 @ William Hill
With the 2014 World Cup coming to a close, the awards are being compiled for the standout stars of the tournament. Germany goalkeeper Manuel Neuer is the bookies favourite to win the Golden Glove award, given to the best voted shot-stopper from the World Cup.
Neuer, who plays his club football at FC Bayern Munich, has put in a number of notable performances for his country, while having kept three clean sheets from the five games played. The goalkeeper has a penchant for coming off his line to deal with through balls from the opposition, but against Algeria he was outstanding.
William Hill are giving odds of 4/6 for Neuer to win the World Cup Golden Glove this summer as a result of many fine goalkeeping performances made in the tournament. The Bayern shot-stopper is competing with the likes of Keylor Navas (Costa Rica) and Brazil’s Julio Cesar, but is the frontrunner to win the award.
He has a semi-final clash against Brazil tonight where he could further boost his Golden Glove chances with another top performance between the sticks.
