Steven Gerrard is refusing to let his off-field problems have an adverse affect on his game. The Liverpool skipper still has an assault charge hanging over his head, but continues to lead by example on the field.
“I’m a footballer, I focus on my football and I will continue to show that,” Gerrard said in The Sun. “But it’s not just about me. I’m happy to score goals but I’d love to be through without me scoring. We dominated the game and their goal from Joleon Lescott was frustrating because we worked on defending set-pieces.”
