Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is being linked with a summer move to the United States, the Daily Mail can reveal.
The former England international recently suggested that he was prepared to leave the Reds at the end of the season.
Gerrard has a contract until June at Anfield and seeing as how he has yet to be handed a new deal, summer exit remains a realistic possibility.
According to the Daily Mail, New York Cosmos plan to take advantage of the situation and lure the midfielder to the United States.
The club have recently secured the signature of former Real Madrid star Raul Gonzalez and they aim to make a move on Gerrard as well.
New York Cosmos chief Rick Parry could have an important role in an attempt to recruit Gerrard having worked as a chief executive at Liverpool.
The 34-year-old has so far resisted temptation to leave the Reds for greener pastures, but it remains to be seen whether he will be offered a new contract at Anfield.
