Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has said that Steven Gerrard is welcome to return to the club to train, according to Sky Sports.
The midfielder is set to fly to back to the UK this week after the end of the MLS season with LA Galaxy, who he signed for in the summer after spending seventeen years at Anfield.
Klopp has said he has no issue with the thirty-five year old keeping up fitness with the Reds’ first team though that doesn’t necessarily mean that he is set to be offered a deal to play.
Gerrard racked up over seven hundred appearances for Liverpool, scoring one hundred and eighty-six goals and winning a whole host of major honours including two FA Cups, three League Cups, the UEFA Cup and most famously, the Champions League.
He also won one hundred and fourteen caps for England before announcing his international retirement after last summer’s World Cup finals.
