Ghana on course for World Cup spot

Ghana remain on course for a spot at next year’s World Cup. After beating Benin in their first final group match, Mali were defeated 0-2 in the second.

Both goals were scored in the second half, with Kwadwo Asamoah breaking the deadlock on 67 minutes and Matthew Amoah making it 0-2 12 minutes later.

Benin meanwhile, beat Sudan 1-0 thanks to a 22nd-minute goal from Razak Omotoyossi.

Ghana lead Group 4 with six points from two games. Benin are second with three points, ahead of Sudan and Mali who both have one point.
