Ghana waits on duo’s fitness

(GSM) – Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac is sweating over the fitness of defender John Mensah and midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang Badu ahead of World Cup 2010.

Ghana midfielder Michael Essien was on Thursday ruled out of the World Cup after failing a medical on the knee injury he suffered on Africa Cup of Nations duty in January and now boss Rajevac has to deal with a new injury cases about Mensah and Badu over their involvement in the tournament.

The Black Cats centre back Mensah’s season with Sunderland was hampered with the constant reoccurrence of a calf injury; he made his final appearance against Manchester United and played only 17 minutes as he picked up an injury.

Udinese’s Badu picked up an injury towards the end of the Serie A season and has not recovered fully.
