Serie A big guns AS Roma are linked with Stoke City midfielder Gianelli Imbula, the Telegraph has learned.
The 24-year-old Belgium-born French international joined Potters less than 18 months ago from FC Porto in a club record deal, but was never able to live up to the billing.
Imbula managed to make 12 Premier League appearances this season for Stoke but is currently frozen out of the first team by manager Mark Hughes and could be heading out of the club in the summer.
AS Roma are reportedly prepared to offer Imbula a chance to revive his career and have already made an approach for the Stoke City flop.
Stoke City are prepared to let the midfielder leave for a fee as low as £10 million, although they originally invested a record £18.3 million to bring him from Porto.
Imbula still has four years left in his deal with the Premier League club.
