Odds on Festa to become the next Leeds manager has recently been slashed. The 45-year-old is the favourite for the vacant position after it was revealed by club owner Massimo Cellino that Benito Carbone, who many thought would be the next Leeds manager, is only going to remain at the club as manager of the U21 side and academy squads.

As a result, Coral are giving odds of 11/8 for Festa to come the next Leeds manager, with confirmation news expected to be revealed in the coming days. It’s set to be Festa’s first big job for a club, with him only having roles with Cagliara, as assistant manager and reserve team manager. He did have a short-lived spell as head coach of Lumezzane, but now he’ll really be able to prove himself.

Leeds United are in turmoil following a miserable second half to the last campaign, that saw them finish in 15th place in the Championship table, losing 14 and drawn four of their last 24 games in the process.
