Manchester United veteran Ryan Giggs is set to discuss a contract extension with manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
The midfielder, who turned 38 at the end of November, has made 15 appearances for the club so far this season in all competitions, scoring three goals.
Giggs’ current deal is due to expire at the end of the season, but the Welsh winger has suggested he is not ready to follow former team-mate Paul Scholes into retirement.
“It’s almost that time when I’ll sit down with the manager and see what his plans are and I’ll see how I’m feeling (about) playing for another season,” he told the club’s official website.
“At the moment I feel really good and I’m enjoying things more than ever, so we’ll just have to wait and see.”
Giggs was on target in the 5-0 victory over Fulham on Wednesday to continue his record of scoring in every Premier League season, and is enjoying his role as a central midfield player alongside Michael Carrick.
“I love playing there. I’ve made no secret of that and it’s probably my preferred position now,” he said.
“I said the other night it’s a joy for me and Michael to play in midfield when you’ve got the movement in front of you like we had at Fulham.”
“It makes our job so much easier when you’ve got three or four players making great runs when you’re on the ball.”
Giggs is likely to be involved again on Boxing Day when Manchester United face Wigan Athletic at Old Trafford.
