Marseille striker Andre-Pierre Gignac was left frustrated by Marseille’s 2-2 draw with Toulouse in Ligue 1 on Sunday.

Jose Anigo’s men twice led at the Stade Velodrome, going ahead early on through Dimitri Payet, only for Wissam Ben Yedder to equalise four minutes later.

Mathieu Valbuena restored the hosts’ lead only before the break only for Serge Aurier to secure a point for Toulouse on a week where Marseille could have closed the gap between themselves and third-placed Lille to three points.

“It’s infuriating,” Gignac told L’Equipe.

“When you win at half-time, (or) whenever you lead, when the opposing team come back, it starts to get annoying.”

Gignac, who had scored four goals in five Ligue 1 games prior to Sunday’s clash, did not feel it was a lack of hard work that proved Marseille’s undoing.

“We made the effort. We were conquerors facing a boring team,” he added.

“But a lack of aggressiveness on set-pieces cost us dearly. It repeats itself and it starts to become tiresome.

“Especially now that opponents say: ‘We’ll come and take points at the Velodrome.’ That too, is starting to annoy me.”
