French daily newspaper L’Equipe has suggested that Marseille striker Andre-Pierre Gignac plans to quit the club at the end of the current campaign.
The highly rated footballer has a contract until June 2015 at Stade Velodrome and he is not interested in extending his stay at the club as he looks for a new challenge.
And even though the 28-year-old has a chance to leave OM in January, he has decided not to switch clubs before next summer.
Namely, Gignac is eager to make France World Cup squad and he is well aware that staying at Marseille gives him the best chance of being on a plane to Brazil.
Once the 2014 World Cup ends, the experienced striker will start looking for a new club, with English Premier League his most likely destination.
Andre-Pierre Gignac has been in fine form this season, making 16 Ligue 1 appearances and scoring 7 goals.
